Terms of use

The plain-English rules for using this website, buying services on it, and using your client portal.

Who I am

megzynak.ca and the client portal at clients.megzynak.ca are run by me, Megan Nakazawa, through Megan Nakazawa Consulting, a sole proprietorship in Summerland, British Columbia, Canada. By using the site or the portal, you’re agreeing to these terms. You can reach me at hello@megzynak.ca.

Using the website

The website is here to tell you about me and what I offer. I keep it up to date as best I can, but I may change, add or remove anything on it — services, prices, pages — at any time. Links to other sites are there for your convenience; I don’t control those sites and I’m not responsible for what’s on them.

Buying services

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST is added where it applies.
  • Where a service’s page says it’s paid up front (for example, services you check out for on the site), payment is due when you buy.
  • Each service’s page describes what’s included.
  • For projects, I send you a written agreement to sign in the portal. It sets out the scope, the payment terms, and anything about refunds or cancellation. If the agreement and the website ever say different things, the agreement wins.
  • Refunds and cancellations are covered on the service’s page or in your agreement. If neither covers your situation, email me at hello@megzynak.ca and we’ll work it out.

The client portal

  • The portal is for clients I’m working with.
  • You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, so keep your email account secure — anyone who can get into it can get into your portal.
  • You’re responsible for what you upload, and for making sure you have the right to share it with me.
  • I’ll only use what you share in the portal to do the work.
  • Files and saved logins are kept and deleted as described in my Privacy policy.

Who owns what

The content on this website — the writing, photos and design — is mine, and you can’t copy or reuse it without my permission. Who owns the work I do for you is set out in your project’s agreement.

No guaranteed results

I’ll do good, honest work, but I can’t promise specific results like a certain amount of sales, followers or search rankings — too much of that depends on things neither of us controls. And nothing on this site is legal, financial or tax advice; for that, talk to a qualified professional.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential losses — like lost profits, lost data or lost business — that come from using this website or the portal. For paid work, my total liability is limited to what you paid me for the service in question, unless your agreement says otherwise. Nothing here limits any rights you have that the law says can’t be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. When I do, I’ll change the date at the top. If you keep using the site or the portal after that, the updated terms apply. Signed project agreements don’t change unless we both agree.
